My avid interest in family history and genealogy began when my children were born. I wanted to explain who their ancestors were and how they had influenced their lives. Since then my love and knowledge of family history research has grown and after 10 years of researching for my own family and friends, I decided to become a professional genealogist and share my family history expertise and passion with others.
I graduated with a distinction in Family History Skills and Strategies (Intermediate and Advanced) from Pharos Teaching and Tutoring Ltd and the Society of Genealogists.
I am a member of AGRA (Association of Genealogists and Researchers in Archives) and adhere to their standards.
I am also a member of the Society of Genealogists, the British Association for Local History and Lancashire Family History and Heraldry Society. Prior to researching family history I had a 10 year career in scientific research and communication following on from a PhD in chemistry at the University of Nottingham, England. As a consequence, I developed excellent research, analytical and communication skills which are easily transferred into researching family history. I am registered with the ICO as a data controller under the Data Protection Act 1998 (Registration number ZA152837).
